In this episode 04 of the 2030Podcast.com show, we have a discussion with co-host Matt Cox (the podcaster for the Brunch with the Brits show) about driverless cars and drones — what do we think it will be like in 2030?

For driverless cars, the issue of complete auto-pilot is in question. Also, the technology is not really there for a completely driverless automobile — and the recent deaths due to driverless car accidents can attest to that at present. So both Matt and I feel that we are still too early. It should be interesting to note what percentage of autos will be driverless by 2030, as you will hear in this episode.

For drones, the dangers of accidents that can harm people are also apparent. In addition, the threat of compromised private information and fraud in using drones for delivery also pose a threat. And for Matt, as a disabled and visually impaired individual, a drone delivery makes no sense, as he would not be able to go to the drone and unpack and receive the goods — and the technology today is no where near.

Thus, we have reservations on the predictions of a totally drone-filled environment using driverless cars for 2030.
